This practical workshop explores a range of approaches teachers can use to make learning more accessible for pupils with special educational needs.
The session will focus on:
• Providing clear explanations and effective modelling
• Managing cognitive load
• Using scaffolding to support pupils towards greater independence
• Considering how the learning environment can remove barriers
• Using assistive technology
• Making effective use of flexible grouping
Participants will leave with practical strategies for adapting teaching while maintaining appropriate challenge and helping pupils with additional needs engage more successfully with learning.
